No matter if you have been practicing yoga for years or you are relatively new to it, a multi-style yoga training course could be your option to learn the fundamentals in a short span of time as well as have time for practice itself. While a multi-style format makes it possible to cover a range of subjects within the same course, it also follows a consistent approach which can help students deepen their knowledge of yoga theory and practice. Learning about different styles and schools of yoga will help students explore on their own and create a unique training methodology for themselves.
Alakh Yog School offers a 200-hour multi-style teacher training course designed to help students gain the knowledge, skills and practice required to start their own careers as yoga instructors. The curriculum is based on Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga styles, and covers Pranayama, Kriyas, Yoga philosophy, History of yoga, Anatomy, Physiology, Meditation and Mantra Chanting. Equal attention is given to building an analytical background in different techniques and ways to teach them, as well as guided practice of the techniques themselves.
This multi-style training will focus on two different styles of yoga; the traditional style of Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. During the daily practice as well as the theory classes you will gain an understanding on how to do to the asanas with a correct alignment but also how to adjust your own students in these postures.
Throughout the course, Pranayama will be taught in order to help learners practice controlled breathing, and introduce them to the concept of mind-body balance in a focused manner. Through practice as well as a theoretical understanding of pranayama, students are also able to broaden their knowledge of the physiological process involved in Asanas and Kriyas.
The students will be introduced to the history and philosophy of Yoga. These theory classes will help you to gain a better understanding of the tradition as well as help you to go deeper into the vast subject of Yoga. However, to really go deep we will also have meditation and mantra chanting trough out the course.
During the Anatomy and Physiology classes we will study the musculoskeletal, nervous, and cardiovascular systems of the human body. Only by understanding their relationship with yoga you can gain the real benefit of the art.
This course introduces learners to several aspects of yoga that will help them gain a good understanding of the subject. Since the beginning we are also looking into the classroom strategies and teaching methodologies in order to transfer that knowledge to others. Teaching practice along with feedback from the trainers will help the students identify a training style that works for them, and gain confidence to teach.
As required by Yoga Alliance standards, all trainers on our course this program are qualified yoga teachers with a minimum E-RYT 200 qualification or its equivalent. Students who complete this course successfully will be able to train independently as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance.
